Offer Comparison Worksheet

Add each offer you hold. Enter the scholarship, deposit and dates from your award letter and the worksheet sets the four-year cost and the federal loan gap side by side. Nothing you type leaves your browser. New to this decision? Read what to do after the offer.

Assumptions for Every Offer

Tuition and living costs come from FutureOD's school data, before scholarships. Residents of a public school's state can choose the in-state rate. Federal borrowing is capped at $50,000 a year and $200,000 in total for students starting after July 1, 2026.

How This Works

  • Four-year cost adds tuition (rising by your increase each year), a living allowance for that school's cost-of-living tier, and the equipment and board fee estimates, then subtracts the scholarship for the years it renews. It is the same model as the cost calculator.
  • Federal loans cover up to $50,000 a year and $200,000 total. The gap is what's left for savings, family help, scholarships or private loans.
  • Deposits start from the amount the school publishes, when it publishes one. Your award letter wins if it differs, so edit the box.
  • Dates aren't in our data because most schools set them per applicant. Copy them from your offer letter.

These are estimates from published rates. Confirm tuition, fees, scholarship terms and deadlines with each school's financial aid office before you decide, and ask whether a scholarship renews each year.
