These terms cover your use of futureod.com. By using the site, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
Information, Not Advice
FutureOD is a free guide for pre-optometry students. Everything on it is general information, not admissions, financial, legal or tax advice. The stats checker and cost calculator give rough estimates, not predictions of whether you'll be admitted or what you'll pay.
Check With Each School
We check every figure against the source listed on the page and show when we last checked it, but requirements, deadlines and costs change, and we can make mistakes. Confirm anything you rely on with the school, ASCO or OptomCAS before you apply or pay. If you find an error, tell us and we'll fix it.
How FutureOD Makes Money
- Affiliate links. Some guides link to test prep companies through affiliate links. If you buy through one, FutureOD may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Each affiliate link is labeled where it appears.
- No paid placement. No school or company can pay to appear on FutureOD, change its data or move up in any table, list or recommendation. Affiliate links sit where the option would be without them.
- Free tools. The school database, compare tool, stats checker, cost calculator and deadline timeline are free.
- Sponsorships and ads. FutureOD has none today. If we add them, they'll be clearly labeled and kept off school profiles and the compare tool.
Other Websites
FutureOD links to schools, ASCO, OptomCAS, test prep companies and other sites we don't control. We aren't responsible for their content, prices or privacy practices. Anything you buy from another company is between you and that company, under its terms.
Using Our Content
You're welcome to link to any page and share it with classmates or advisors. Please don't copy large parts of the site, its tables or its tools to republish as your own. The underlying school data comes from the public sources cited on each page.
Email Updates
If you subscribe, we'll send FutureOD updates until you unsubscribe. The privacy policy explains what we collect and how to delete it.
No Guarantees
FutureOD is provided as is, without guarantees that it will be accurate, complete, current or always available. To the extent the law allows, FutureOD isn't responsible for losses that come from using the site or relying on its information.
Changes to These Terms
If we change these terms, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
