GPA Calculator
Add your courses to see a cumulative GPA and a science GPA, weighted by credits the way OptomCAS weights them. Nothing you type leaves your browser.
Already Know Your GPA?
Enter your cumulative and science GPA from your OptomCAS verified transcript or your school and skip the course list. If you fill these in, My Dashboard uses them instead of the totals calculated below.

How This Calculator Counts
- Credit-weighted. OptomCAS multiplies each course's grade value by its attempted credits, then divides the total by total attempted credits.
- Repeated courses all count. OptomCAS ignores a school's forgiveness, academic renewal and grade replacement policies. Enter every attempt as its own row.
- Non-graded credit is left out. AP credit and pass/fail courses don't enter your GPAs. Choose "Pass/fail, AP or not graded" and the row is skipped.
- WF counts as an F. OptomCAS counts a withdrawal while failing as an F. How it handles a plain W isn't stated on its GPA page, so this calculator leaves W's out. Ask OptomCAS before you rely on that.
- Quarter hours are converted. OptomCAS calculates in semester hours at 1.0 quarter hour = 0.667 semester hours.
- Science GPA. Tick Science for your biology, chemistry and physics courses. OptomCAS sorts courses into its own subject categories, so your number here may differ from the one it reports.
Schools see the GPAs OptomCAS calculates, not the ones on your transcript, so treat this as an estimate. Nationally, applicants accepted somewhere last cycle averaged a 3.56 cumulative GPA and a 3.45 science GPA. Those are averages, not cutoffs. See where your GPA sits against each school's class, or read how OptomCAS counts repeats and W's.
